In Islam marriage is not compulsory but it is sunnah and it highly recommended act. Marriage saves society from many problems and leads to society towards stability.

Importance of Marriage:

The significance of marriage could not be denied but in today’s world, people are much busier in making their future and studying that they have left behind the question of marriage. They have made their lives goal-oriented and think marriage is just a waste of time and they just don’t know their thought could lead society to destruction. This thinking of our youth and their parents leading us towards destruction and nothing would be left behind. In Quran Allah says:

‘And wed the single among you’. (Chapter 24, verse 32)

Prophet of Allah Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ said,

‘Do not delay in three things;
1) The offering of the obligatory prayer.
2) The offering of the funeral prayer when the deceased’s body is present.
3) The marriage of a woman when her couple is found.’

Problems after a delay in Marriage:

Delay in marriage causes many problems people are involved in homosexuality which is making our roots empty. The number of rapes are increasing day by day which is making society insecure for us. Masturbation and many other immoral activities are prevailing in the society.

So, Delay in marriage causing many pregnancy problems in girls because with growing age they got trouble in conceiving. Many people who cannot marry because they cannot afford as we have made marriage a show full of luxuries and colors.

Duty of Society:

It is the duty of society to arrange marriages of those who are unable to afford the expenses of marriage. This practice of society overcomes many issues and status differences between different sects. Dowry demand is another big reason for the delay in marriage.

Our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ has not given any dowry to His beloved daughter Hazrat Fatima (R.A). This is a big example for all of us Muslims and we should follow this. Dowry demand has destroyed many homes and creates restlessness in society. Sometimes delay in marriage comes because of destiny and on this condition one must pray to Allah and keep patience. Allah must have something much better for him or her in this delay.
