ALLAH will ask on the Day of Judgment to the men if they fulfilled their obligations towards their families. They who fear ALLAH will do their best to direct the way his wife and children live by educating himself and his family to living according to Sunnah of the Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) and the Holy Quran.

The Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) said:

“The best of you is the best one to his family.”  [Al-Tabarani]

The basic duty of a ideal husband is maintenance and protection and overall responsibility for the welfare of his wife which is stated in the Quran:

“Men shall take full care of women with the bounties which Allah has bestowed more abundantly on the former than on the latter. and with what they may spend out of their possessions.” [Qur’an 4:34]

As Muslims we must base our judgment on that makes an ideal Muslim husband on the guidance of ALLAH and the example of Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W), not on the standards of a TV sitcom, the culture in which we were born or our own materialistic mentality.

An ideal Muslim husband has nothing to do with the amount of money one has, physical beauty or the status of one’s job. Rather, it has to do with one’s commitment to ALLAH. One’s knowledge of and willingness to follow the guidance of ALLAH and the Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) example, and one’s commitment to do righteousness even in difficult situations.

Fear Allah in (treating) women. [Muslim]

So, the ideal Muslim husband should be humble, gentle, kind, caring, loving, willing to cooperate with others in the family. It involve in raising the children and never abuse either physically or mentally.

One should not hate his believer wife. If he dislikes some of her attitudes, he would (surely) like others (attitudes). [Muslim]
